Sitting in the airport again. At least the next flight is only 2 hours. Journey from Dubai was long…very long. We started with an announcement that the travel time would only be 13 hours rather than the normal 14 due to ‘favourable winds’ but then just before take off we had to return to the terminal as the ‘smoke detector’ in the cargo hold was apparently faulty. I didn’t think it was very likely that anyone would be smoking in the cargo hold anyway. That took 90 mins to fix so we were 30 mins late arriving in Brisbane. Watched Slumdog Millionaire and listened to lots of music. Didn’t sleep much and couldn’t wait to get off the plane.
The weather in Brisbane is dull, grey and wet, making it look like Manchester with palm trees. Its supposed to be sunny and clear in Cairns but I will see.
